About the Midatlantic Music Conference

Since 2002, the Mid-Atlantic Music Conference has solidified itself as the largest and longest running music conference in the Mid-Atlantic States. The event has hosted over 1060 performers, artists and bands from the US, Canada and around the world. Additionally, more than 500 music, film and digital entertainment industry professionals have participated in interactive panels, displays and demonstrations, making it the premier music industry networking event in the market!

From its inception, the goal of the conference has been to focus the national and international music industry and related press on the Mid-Atlantic music market while providing a platform for the areas musicians, artists and related industry stakeholders to gain exposure, be heard and be educated in the business of music. The conference brings together music, film and digital media industry executives, artists, musicians, students and other related industry insiders for three days of education, networking and high energy entertainment!

The event has provided unparalleled opportunities for our conference attendees. Panelists and presenters have conducted face to face dialogue in a classroom style setting for educational benefit of conference attendees. Over the years the event has explored topics ranging from “How to Make Money Without a Major Label or Record Deal” to “Creative and Alternative Placement of Music”. In 2006 and again in 2011, the conference partnered with the NC Bar Association to offer a 3 Credit CLE Course to Entertainment Attorneys and Central Piedmont Community College to offer a 3 Credit Course in Video Production and Mastering.

For our sponsors, such as Sam Ash Music Store, SESAC and others, basing the event in the Charlotte region has offered the perfect opportunity to market products and services being the largest city within the nation’s fifth largest urban region and the only major distribution center midway between the Northeast, Midwest and Florida markets. Sam Ash Music Store and its vendors have participated in multiple events related to the conference including the Carolina Battle of the Bands and an annual Producers Showcase and Clinic.

The Mid-Atlantic Music Conference is taking place October 4-7, 2012 and will feature performances by 100 artists and bands in multiple venues. The event is being hosted in Charlotte’s NODA District, the City’s best collection of galleries and performance venues and some of the funkiest full service restaurants including authentic Cajun cooking, Southwest cuisine, a Creative pizza eatery and more. This new partnership solidifies the event as the “The Crossroads of Entertainment and Business” and will elevate our business and networking opportunities to new heights!

For 2012, the Industry Executives that we are bringing to Charlotte are top in their field and bring a vast amount of knowledge with them. They will fly in from all across the country to network and spend time with our conference attendees! Panelists this year will include Music Publishing Directors, Music Supervisors for Film and TV, A&R Directors from many different Record Labels, and Entertainment Attorneys.  We will also bring Major Recording Artists to give you a solid perspective on how to succeed in the Music Business.

We are also excited to announce our first Marketing and Trade Show. This event offers the perfect opportunity for the business community to feature their products and services and connect with leaders in the Music, Film and Digital Media industries. The region itself is home to legions of music and digital media retail, manufacturing, and distribution companies, in addition to major record labels and great forms of higher education and training programs.
